Maracyn - contains Erythromycin - targets gram-positive bacteria

Maracyn 2 - contains Minocycline - targets gram-negative bacteria

Maracyn Plus - contains Sulfadimidine and Trimethoprim: targets both gram-positive and gram-negative:
"Sulphadimidine is highly effective against streptococcus, staphylococcus and gram-negative pathogens..." (1)
"Trimethoprim is a synthetic antibacterial drug active against a wide variety of aerobic gram-positive and gram-negative ophthalmic pathogens" (2)

API Furan 2 - contains Nitrofurazone and Furazolidone:
"Contains two furan compounds to combat a wide variety of gram-positive & gram-negative bacterial diseases..." (3)

So Maracyn Plus is the best choice and Furan 2 second best. I don't want to order it online and have to wait but I may have to. Should I put him back in salt until the medicine arrives?

It's your call, because only you can know how fast it's moving.. if it's moving at an alarming rate I would not rely on meds in the mail, unless you pay for express overnight shipping or something. I would use what you can find.

He's worse today. It's still spreading quickly. He's lost all his color, is bloated, lethargic and breathing heavily. I keep checking expecting him to be dead. The pet store closed early today -_- Going again tomorrow. I checked the water parameters in all 3 tanks today and everything was fine. I'll try to post some pictures shortly.

Bloated? Meaning scales sticking out? If so...

Epsom salts - pure 100% magnesium sulfate with no dyes, perfumes or additives per the ingredients label. Predissolve them at a rate of 1 tsp per gallon and add slowly over the course of an hour to avoid shock.

You need Kanaplex or Maracyn Plus too.

Came home with the meds today and he was dead :( Any idea what it could've been? My fiancÚ said his gills looked strange but I didn't see them for myself. Thanks for all the help though.

I'm sorry you lost him :(

It's hard to say more than what I have without photos... sounds like a fast moving bacterial infection.
