That would be a good idea - alongside HM, you may get DT genos, which can be pretty valuable to breeders around you.

I'm not sure there are many breeders near me...at least I haven't met anyone else around here that even knows there are steps to breeding and I've never shipped out a fish before o.O

What you could do is breed him to a halfmoon then breed his children either to a sibling or back to dad. You will get results but no to low deformities.

I know that's super common, but I will always feel weird doing that...I know they are fish, but still...also, where can I find a listing of people in Oklahoma that breed bettas or show them...I've never even heard of a show in Oklahoma...
