Air pump suggestions?

Hey all!

So I bought a sponge filter and set it up in my tank.. funny (embarrassing) story actually. I kinda just let it sit in there and didn't realize I actually had to set up an air pump with it. So it had been sitting in there a day or two before I questioned whether or not it was "working". (If there was supposed to be some sort of current or not). hahaha ok. woops.

I have an air pump! But when I hooked it up, the current was just a little too strong for my liking. It freaked out my fish and though there were parts of the tank he could swim to without getting caught up in it, I decided I didn't want that for the long term! I use just a basic top fin air pump, but I was thinking of finding an adjustable one so I could change the settings.

Any (affordable) suggestions for a 3.5 gal?

you can put in a valve in the air line that will do the job
