Haha, well I have a cousin who lives near Denver I believe... She has a betta that she's been trying to pawn off on me because she doesn't want to move him back and forth between CO and NE.

The poor guy is in an unheated bowl because she's convinced her fish live longer that way :/

Lol, I would have if my tank was cycled. I'm running a fishless cycle in a four gallon that does not yet have a future occupant.

I'm not sure how she would react if I told her I met someone on a fish forum who was willing to take him :p she hasn't lived in CO long but she's already had run ins with a few crazy people lol plus she lives in Carson something (not sure how far it is from Denver) on a military housing base I think. She came to Nebraska for a couple weeks and I'm pretty sure he did not come with her.

Carson is I think far from Denver? But I'd travel to save a little bettas life! There are an abundance of crazies here in Colorado....

I think there are an abundance of crazies all over, but she's from a small conservative town in Nebraska so she's not as used to them (besides the crazies in her family, lolol). I just don't think she'd be too ecstatic about meeting someone I met on a forum that I've never met in real life. She's had a few run-ins in Colorado that I think have made her really cautious about the people there, especially anyone she doesn't know.

And she didn't seem to incredibly concerned about her fish but she said that she's had bettas in the past live for 3 years in bowls and all the ones she had in bigger tanks died quickly, so I cannot convince her to at least get a bigger tank, let alone a heater and quality food and all the other things a betta needs to live a happy life. Ugh. I also saw some people at walmart today purchasing 7 fish who had a 3 gallon tank in their cart (totally unrelated but it made me think of that). The sales associate was also totally clueless. The lady was asking, "so these fish aren't gonna like, try to kill each other, right?" even though he was pulling them all from the same tank and I do believe they were all the same type of fish. bluurrrrggaskjhfkjsnbf. Some people...
