You don't do anything with the ph. It's fine where it's at and if you mess with it you can really hurt him.

Just wanted to give a quick update. Keratin is doing MUCH better! =) Yay!! He's totally acclimated to his new home (using the 2.5 gallon. You were totally right about the 10 Callistra, too big right now!) He's swimming around AND EATING AGAIN!! :) The velvet continues to improve =) Can't wait for it to totally clear up so he can have all his fun new toys for the new home :) Thank you so much, I've learned a lot and my boy is happier :)

Very happy to hear this!

My 10g experience with bettas has taught me they do tend to love them, but they really need to be densely planted (or oversized bushy silks) with lots of hiding places and plants floating at the top. If you leave them too bare they tend to get stressed out. When they're sick it's just way easier to keep them in something small so you can keep on top of water quality and med dosing.
