Is it necessary to let water sit for 24 hours before doing a water change

i don't. x: but that's mostly because i use well water, and conditioner. i DO let it sit for a while while the water in the cup and tank equal out in temperature, though.

I have well water and a tropical tank, so I use at least half a treatment (to take care of other stuff like heavy metals) and add water that is 1 to 2 degrees over my tank so that by the time I get done cleaning my tank and taking out water, it's perfect and I pour it in.

well, my tanks are all smaller, except my 10 gallon, so i do 100% water changes. x: i use full dose of Prime(two drops per gallon) to take care of the metals and such.
