It didn't sound like it.. I've never heard of a betta choking on a pellet of that size. Not sure what else to say. Sorry :(

I have had betta choke on larger pellets but they tend to spit them back out and let them sink if they can't chomp them down. Do you know how old she was before you got her? Had she ever had health problems in the 2 months of owning her? Any meds you used in the past with her?

She was a baby when I got her (2 months ago) younger than year for sure. In the short time I owned her their were no health problems at all, she was growing at a healthy pace and really interactive with me. As for meds the week I got her I used aq salt in her tank because she seemed stressed from the move. But that is the only "medicine" I have ever needed to use on her.

That is odd O.o I would say with everything you have been doing she shouldn't have just passed like that. I mean, considering most petshop fish come from mills where they breed poor quality and sick fish it could have just been a genetic time bomb waiting to go off. I guess we can't know unless she was examined. I can say this though it wasn't choking, as I said if my fish choke they spit it back out. -hugs- sorry for the loss, I know when taking in a younger fish and watching them grow you become very attached to them and they become so special to you.
