Question newbie. tank mate question

I have a male betta in a 3 gallon half moon tank. I was thinking of getting a zebra snail, but I hear they produce a lot of waste and may leave eggs as well. My tank is filtered, but I'm still curious about adding a buddy. Thanks in advance for any advice and info!

zebra snail as in zebra nerit? They do produce losts of waste but nerits are smaller and fun fact, from what I hear it is impossible for them to breed in fresh water. Also if you plant live plants in the tank consider a snail your personal gardener. They will keep plants healthy by eating the dead parts of the plant.

Yes, zebra nerit. No live plants yet. So, not to worry about the waste? Good to know. Thank you.

Actuality the whole "they wont breed in a fresh water tank" is just a myth, I've have 6 horned nerite snails in my tank for about 5yrs now and they lay eggs all over the place. Here's a forum with a nail guy telling you how to breed them if you want to breed them :http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?...nerite-snails/

hi name is

The nerites will lay eggs in freshwater but they won't hatch. For that the eggs need saltwater or rather the minerals and calcium from the saltwater, at least from what I have read. So IMO there is no worry about them over populating your freshwater tank.

It is filtered. I was peeking at shrimp too. Maybe I will look into them a little more. Shrimp are cleaner than nerites? Any specific shrimp? I keep seeing ghost shrimps mentioned. I was reslly hoping for the zebrz nerit. I have a decent amont of calcium in my water too. I heard that's good forthem. So many things to think about!
