Best way to catch a betta

What is the best way to catch my betta when it is time for a water tank change? The past two times it has taken me 10 or so minutes, with a few 'almost got him' moments, to scoop him up in the net, and I feel it is stressing him out because it takes so long. Any ideas?

i prefer to change water w/betta still in to minimize stress. however when i do occationally do full changes and cleanings i try to corner them and give them no other place to go, tap the glass and they swimm in.

Do you still have his original cup? Make sure it's clean and then just stick it in the water and herd him in with the net and then slowly bring him out of the water....tip some of the water back out and then do your water change.

maybe try following calmly and slowly behind him with the net so its not threatning. Or myabe even put food in the net and then he should just swim right in. mine does that. No chasing requierd
