Like most of you betta owners, I check my fish out regularly to see if anything is amiss. I also take a LOT of pictures because I like bragging how pretty Alacrity is.
A huge benefit of constantly snapping pictures of your fish is you're able to examine it better. In a second of watching your fish swim, it may squirm and dance for you, making it really hard to see little things. But when you take pictures you can closely examine everything.
That's how I found a tear in Alacrity's fin today. I hadn't really noticed it before but when I was cleaning the pictures up a bit I noticed it pretty well.
So for all owners, if you don't have a good camera, I suggest you get one. And take lots of pics :3 (As if we needed more reasons to take pictures of our fin-babies!)
