It's been a while since I posted here, but I've been having some thoughts recently and I'd like to know what my options are.
I'm finishing high school from now until summer, then I'll be working for the summer, and then I'll be going to college. My bettas have suffered the bad end of the deal due to me being so busy; late water changes, almost no exercise, etc.
I only have 3, and that's not many compared to some others on here, but at the moment I have my hands full. I feel like I'll only be able to handle one at a time from now until a while. That way I can focus on giving the one fish the care he needs instead of giving half of what they deserve to all three.
I've already decided which two I'll be giving up, but I don't know how to go about it. They're pet store fish, so I'm not too keen on selling them, but rather giving them away. They're in good health.
The humane society here takes fish, but I'm not sure how often people check it just for fish. I don't want to sell them back to a pet store, because we all know how great they treat their bettas.
At this point I'm thinking Craigslist. I just feel so bad for my little guys. But I believe it's best for them, since with all this business, I can't keep up with them all financially and with their well-being.
Thank you everyone.
