Best place to buy 20 gallon long OR 29 gal tank?

This isn't for a fish, but I might be getting a hamster soon..
I'm having trouble finding prices... I need either a 20 gallon long tank or a 29 gallon (since it has the same floor space)

Anyone know of any deals for them right now? When I put my zip code in for petco's ad, it says my local petco does not have an ad... :/

Try checking craigslist or kijiji. Sometimes you can get good free or cheap deals there. I recently advertised a 55 gallon for free just to get it out of my way and someone was glad to get it for their reptile. We both won!

Petco is good. I'm not sure if they are still doing their 1$ a gallon sale

I understand everyone has their personal preferences but I always used wired cages for my rats. I made sure to get a special galvanized wire cage that didn't have too much space between the wires and had doors that stay closed easily.

Just a personal opinion since it helps with ventilation. You can probably find them for cheaper but I found their cages to be of high quality. If you do your research, then you can decide what is the best option for hamster(s). These may not be the best option if you are planning on adding tunnels. Not sure about that. I haven't owned hamsters.

Personally, I stayed away from wired cages as I always spot my hamsters chewing off at them (and who knows what they have in those metals)! Fish tanks are nice for an unobstructed view of your hamster but it gets stuffy in there pretty quickly. I'd suggest something like a Habitrail Loft if you've got the budget! http://www.habitrail.com/ovo/eng/pro...hp?color=white

Yep, Petco's $1/gallon sale is your best bet aside from Craigslist. If it's not going on now, it will be soon. They seem to do it at least every other month.

Excuse me, my mistake. It was powder coated cages that I used, which can be found in other sections. It might be more of a concern for a hamster to squeeze its head out, but the ventilation in aquariums can suck. The wire cages I used were highly recommended and had a drop pan in the bottom that could easily be detached for cleaning up litter.

Petco's $1 a gallon ended last weekend. Craigslist for sure, and perhaps a local fish store if you have one.
