Having trouble figuring out which type of tail type this little baby Betta is.
I think Roundtail or Delta any one know? Here is the best pic I can find.

Great info! It should be noted that a cross between a double tail and a veil tail will result in all veil tails that carry the dt gene which will appear in f2. A true solid purple betta, although it has and is being attempted, has never been produced. Bettysplendens has a great post about it in the "genetics study" section. Marble is a highly unpredictable gene that "jumps around" causing the fishes coloration to constantly change, meaning you could purchase a beautiful marble fish you love that could completely change into a differently colored fish you hate. Also, there are many types of black. The one you displayed is a melano, I believe. Bonus fact- There have only been two recorded albino bettas, and one of them bred only once but he did not produce any albino fry. Albinos often die prematurely because they are bling and host many serious genetic defects.

I myself prefer Melano Rosetails. It's just something about that heavy branching and dark color that seem to catch my eye the most, I have always wanted one.

At the moment I just have VTs.

What is the red/blue coloring called (like on the logo)? That's what my guy looks like--- dark red body, bright red fins with blue streaks. I'd post a pic but I don't have a very good camera and fish are hard to photograph... :3

Hmm. Skittle, my VT, dosen't look anything like the colors posted. He has the body of a pastel but his tail is like a rich blue mixed with purple with pale speckles.

Is he a SDet? He was marked as half moon, but I don't think he has a 180 degree flare from his tail. Can anyone help me? Also, his coloring is much more vivid now that he's been in his home for a while. :3
