do pond snails hide during the day?

A couple weeks ago after I got some plants, even though I rinsed them off I saw a pond snail right after I'd gotten all my plants set up. But I haven't seen it since! I wondered if maybe my betta ate it because it was only twice the size of a food pellet, but today I noticed there are squiggly lines in the algae in Fishie's side of the tank but my nerites are in Shiny's section and they can't get over the dividers because they touch the top I have on the tank... do pond snails come out at night and eat then?

mine is always active. they do come out in the day. they are dayturnal.

I never see mine unless they end up in my bucket when I'm pouring out water after a water change.

Is there another type of snail that only comes out at night? there's definitely something crawling through the algae on the glass and my nerites can't get over the divider.

I just found a tiny Ramshorn snail in my fanwort! Do those hide during the day?
