Betta severely cut up

My betta had its head stuck in one of the decors. I gently wiggled it out, but now it has some pretty severe flesh wounds. I moved it to a smaller tank, placed in some epsom salt and solution that provides slime coating. It's currently just lying on the bottom of my tank... i'm extremely distressed. is there anything else I can do?

Keep the water warm and clean and lots of time - he's probably extremely distressed too. Epsom salts are for internal problems like constipation, sbd, or dropsy. You'll want to use aquarium salt for this. I've never needed to use aquarium salt before, but get the kind for freshwater fish and follow the directions exactly and don't use for longer than 10 days. Also, get rid of the decoration he got stuck in - Bettas are very curious and not very aware of there own size. So even though he got stuck in it once, that won't prevent him from trying it again.
