So I have an Elephant Ear betta that I've owned for less than a week now. I've noticed that his right fin has a slight tear in it (only one visible tear). There is only two causes that I'm aware that it could be from and the two options are either the gravel or one of the two plastic plants. However, I will note that I felt both plastic plants and they're rather smooth...but I guess it could be from the material in general being more "hard" than others?
I'll be cleaning his tank out tomorrow and it'll be a 100% change (I have a smaller tank as of now, but I'm going to be working on upgrading to a much larger tank soon).
He's still completely active, eats regularly, and no other physical signs except that one minor tear.
Any ideas on what's causing it?
