Looking for female bettas in NYC

Any ideas on where I can get female bettas in nyc area?

Most LPS only have males and Petco stock is limited...

How far is Auburn, NY from you? I know a breeder there that is selling a bunch of fish - she may have some spare females :) She has great fish..

ask Petco when they get new fish in and go on that day. I have gone on arrival days and seen them getting unpacked and got first pick! Also Petco babies are almost always female if you are willing to try and raise them and take the chance of getting a male in the bunch.

Also you can ask Petco to special order for you, that's how I got my nerite snails.

What kind of females are you looking for? If you're just going for veiltails then petco/petsmart is your best bet. If you're looking for halfmoons or PK then it would be much harder to find. But as mentioned above -- Win in chinatown manhattan will occasionally carry them. And Petland discounts can order female bettas for you as well (but I think they only order the veiltail varieties).
