Young new female

I was at petsmart and saw this tiny little female betta who was floating on her side and looking horrible. I felt bad for her thinking she could be dead by tomorrow unless I bought her. So she is now home with me and I was wondering if regular betta pellets are fine to feed her or should I try using frozen brine shrimp. How much do i feed her and how often? Im guessing shes only about an inch long. She is already looking better after a piece or two of food.
Thanks!

Hey there,

Congratulations on your rescue!!!!! we would love to see some photos of her. Betta pellets are fine to feed her and are probably the best option because they are the only way to be sure that you are providing a nutritionally balanced diet. Most frozen foods including frozen brine shrimp have very little nutritional value and should only be offered an a very occasional treat. Goodluck with her

Thank you! I was just checking because i didnt know if brine shrimp would give her an extra boost to help get her healthy faster. I will post pics in the chat section in the next few days as well as pics of the male i could help but buy because he was so pretty. :)

Frozen brine shrimp will certainly give her a protien boost, which would also give her more energy.
