Betta Eating Plecos food

I used to keep Milotic in a 10 gallon tank, but today a few days ago I changed him into a 5 gallon tank because thats all my new apartment will allow me to have. (like hell if I sell or flush him because of a stupid rule) Anyways Today I caught him down at the bottom of the tank eating the pleco's veggie pellets, I only feed the pleco twice a week but I have never seen him do this before. Anyway to stop him or can it hurt him? I'm just not sure what to do or if I should or can do anything about this.

Don't suggest isolating the pleco to feed him that would take over an hour and a spare tank that I don't have.

My fish do this as well. I usually drop tempt my fish with food first and then drop the wafer past them.

I know about the hour thing. They're little ninjas.

I agree with HK. Also, I don't mean to be rude, but 5 gallons is WAY to small for a common pleco. Even if its a bushy nose, rubber lip, etc. pleco, five gallons is still too small.

I can't stop the cichlid though. He eats EVERYTHING. My boyfriend even fed him betta pellets for giggles. -shakes fist at him- >:( He'll even stop eating his food mid-feeding and go for the wafer just because it's something different. -.-
