Okay, I'm going to backtrack here since having him in the QT bowl gives me a better look... what looked immediately like a blotchy white infection of some kind may just be his scales falling out or losing color?
I couldn't get very many good pics... but by my up-close observations it's really hard for me to tell if the scales are gone or not because they're such a stark contrast of color of what they were just a night or two ago, but they still kind of have the lines between them as if they are scales.
He just ate NLS, I've had him for about a week and a half, and he is active and always comes up to greet me when I enter the room of course. 5g planted tank, weekly 20% water changes. Temp 78 (took heater from main tank and put into bowl since well, nerite snails don't require a heater and bettas do). Azoo palm filter. Using tetra aquasafe plus in the 5g, stress coat in the QT bowl but honestly seeing as how huge the API bottle was when it came in the mail I'll probably just use it solely from here on out. && water parameters are 0 across the board & pH of 7.6

As stated before he's currently in a 2g QT bowl with nothing but a thermometer & heater; stress coat/kordon's fish protector/jungal fungus clear. If I need to I'll make a trip to petco for maracyn 1 & 2 tomorrow morning since they dont have it at the LFS down the street... I've been meaning to stockpile caffeine free black tea for this kind of stuff dangit.
The only things I can think of for him rubbing scales off on is the driftwood in the tank and the spongey intake cover that comes with the azoo filter.
I'm not *too* worried because he is in such lovely spirits and really doesn't seem to be different at all aside from the weird scale thing going on, and I feel like if it isn't just "marbling" or something that it's the early stages of something fungal and the jungle fizz will most likely end that from progressing.
