That's what I thought when I saw it, too. He looks a lot like my olive nerite snail, sans some of the chips on the shell. That would be very cool if you got one of those as a hitch hiker

Nope, those two are definitely nerites! Trust me, I'm a mollusk expert, LOL. Geez, what a lovely credential to add to my resume.

The good news is that they won't reproduce, and are good for keeping algae at bay. Bad news is that they both have some bad shell erosion, which is pretty much permanent with nerites. Make sure to add some calcium either to your water, or to their diet to keep it from getting worse. The shrimp will probably appreciate it as well!

I actually got them from a store; I don't know if it's local or not but it's called Petland. Haha. I don't usually buy from them, but their people are always super nice and genuinely love and care for the animals they have in their shop and that their customers have.
