My Betta all grown up ^^

I bought this betta as a baby back in September, and this is how much it has grown. Actually I wanted to know whether this is a female or male... it has such long fins.. but I have had it for such a long time and so far I have not seen any bubble nests or any attempts. And.. how would you identify? (I'm guessing a delta... but.. )

anyway enjoy ^^;;

Beautiful fish, nice color and growth. It's a little hard to tell, due to it being young. It looks like a male PK to me.

Wow, handsome fish. I'm going to say a male delta. Anal fin and ventrals are very long for a female. Females just don't get fins like that as far as I know. The tail looks delta. VTs aren't symmetrical and round like that (though it could still be growing), but there's no 180 degrees spread to make it a HM. PK are usually stouter and have shorter fins.

Male for sure, and I third the Delta vote, but you can never be too sure :3

you know, now that i think about it -_-; i think he is a male...

i just find it very interesting though he hasn't made a bubble nest at all... since i have had him...
(he's about 2 inches head to tail) :sigh: maybe he's not happy :(

Bubblenesting is territorial and breeding. Your fish can be perfectly happy and not build a nest.

My fella, Hu, is interactive, and healthy, but no nest. My boys Mushu and Skerries used to build nests all the time, but they stopped when the females were no longer in sight.

Oh also my delta Paris doesn't build nests. Even when Venus is around he won't, I guess it varies between fish ;)
