Planted Tank in the Summer

Hi,

One more thing, CA is having West Nile diseases. So my question is will a 2.5g NPT Shrimp-only tank be a good place for mosquito/gnats breeding in the summer when it gets to be 100 in August? If so, would a sponge filter help with deterring such breeding?

I am thinking ahead for my NPT. Thanks.

I'd recommend at least a sponge filter anyway ... shrimp love to feed on those, especially the babies!

But yes, a sponge filter or airstone will help with that issue. I doubt you'd have much of a problem with it indoors, but better safe than sorry. I had a mild case of WN last year, and it's awful.
