help!

Hey I'm Monique,
I can't tell if my fish bubba has fin rot or if the filter is harming him. I baffled the filter with a sponge so there is almost no flow and I blocked off the bottom so he can't go near it. When I went to petsmart they gave me bettafix. Idk what to do please help!

Hi there ...I would not use the bettafix it has oil in it that can block the gland they breath air with. For now just warm clean water and he should be fine. If you see any black on his fins where they are torn you could add some AQ salt to his water like a teaspoon per gallon. How big in your tank and do you have a heater ?

As far as I can see there are no black spots on his fins. My tank is a 1gallon and has a heater which keeps the water between 74-80

Your very welcome. I would just keep his water extra clean and warm, I keep mine at 79. Warm clean water and he should be fine.
