Any thoughts? I originally thought female b/c it's a tiny fish and hardly ever flares (pretty relaxed fish - mirrors, other bettas, myself - nothing seems to faze it) and def has a visible "ovispositor-like" white spot on belly. However, the few times I have noticed it flare the beard is quite large and colorful, plus the vibrant metallic blues and reds, and long ventral fins. Also for first time since I've had the fish (since september) there's the beginnings of a bubble nest in the live plant. I've attached a photo of a rare gill flare - only second time I've seen this fish flare ever
