I have a betta that had a lump ever since I got him, it wasn't too bad til several days ago, and it got worse over time. I don't have any pics yet but it looks like he swallowed a marble and it poked out his side. my tank has large gravel so he couldn't fit that in his mouth. I'm sure my tank's water quality is fine, had it tested not too long ago and the other fish are fine. any suggestions?

It may be a tumor, constipation or sign of organ failure. Can you share photos? what color is his poop? Are his scales sticking out at all?

I highly suggest investing in a reliable drops kit for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate. Always good practice to have when you are running a cycle and not doing 100% changes. Ammonia and nitrite should be 0 and nitrates should be <20ppm.

I would do a minimum of 20% weekly water change with siphon.
