Fins almost look too long to be either Det or SDet, but I'm no professional. I'd guess VT, though. He's GORGEOUS!!!

Paarthurnax, my very split second decision purchase today, was fading as well. I got busy and lost track of time on putting him in a tank. Next thing I know, it's two hours later and he's almost completely gray. I almost had a heart attack. His tank was ready, but I'd been busy trying to get rid of my cichlid. ANYWAYS, I put him in his tank and now he's way brighter than he was at the store. Like, within an hour.

Are you sure? On the first page, it shows how VTs should look. Usually HMs, Dets, and SDets always have caudals that round at the edges like a fan.

I promise I'm not trying to undermine your fish. Vts are gorgeous and are currently being thought about for IBC show rings.

It's fine, I still love him SDet or VT. :) but he has some torn and curled fins so now it's pretty hard to tell.

Yea, but I'm sure that once it's healed it'll be more than obvious. xD

Right now it's hard to tell. Either he has a huge caudal for a SDet, or he's a VT. To be honest, if he's VT, he'd be breeding quality. Or so I think.
