Not eating?

My newest Betta fish ( A Crowntail Male ) is not eating right now. I just put him in his new tank and it has a heater and a filter. He is not very old. Also the water is about 80 degrees. So does anyone know why he would eat his food and spit it back out?

Thanks.

It's pretty common for new bettas to not eat the first few days after you bring them home. They can be picky eaters too, and you may have to try another brand of food. Give him some time and see how he does. Good luck.

why don't you try starting him off with a bloodworm or two before his pellets/flakes. they love them.

If he's pretty small (I've noticed certain Petco ones getting younger and younger) and you think that he can't handle the size of the pellets try crushing a few up.
