So I was looking through old pictures...

I found one of my OLD photobucket albums from when I first started keeping bettas 9 years ago and I though you all would love to see some of the first bettas I ever had (before I knew what I was doing, lol)

This was my very first betta, Alex

After Alex Came Gabe

And Loki

I don't remember this little ones name, but he was my first ever crowntail

This guy was Tic-Tac he was my favorite betta, I love all of my bettas, but I've never loved one as much as I loved Tic-Tac and Mercury (my first female ever)

This was Mercury, the first female I ever had

A couple of my other first girls from my first sorority

And my first halfmoons, purchased from Lovemybetta (now hopdiggity on AB) this was back when halfmoons were a lot harder to find!
This was Aiden

And Ace

My first successful spawn

My first "uncommon" color (yellow was very rare back then) Aloha

And my longest living betta, Oliver, who I had for over 5 years. When I first got him

And a week before he passed on

Oliver looks so lovely, resting on that flower. Three years is the longest I've had a betta, and that was unusual for me. Life measured in coffee spoons--or bettas! So many bubblenests. MoonShadow, they look so contented; if I may ask, what have you been doing for your bettas that seems to make the biggest difference in their lives? Are you scrupulous about water changes? Do you heat the tank? Disease seems to take my bettas after a couple of years of smooth sailing. Have you had a bad outbreak of disease among your bettas or is health the general rule? It is a happy and joyful circumstance that you have shared your life with these bettas; thank you for sharing your pictures with us!
