too strong of a current? HELP

i have an evolve2 tank that i bought at petco.

it creates a rather heavy current, the last betta housed in it didn't seem to mind it and actually rather enjoyed it. but since his fatal jump i've bought a new betta, hector, and he HATES the current.
the problem is i'm not sure how to turn it down in this tank.. any suggestions?

You can use filter sponge to baffle it. My filter in my 10 gallon is really strong, too, and I covered the intake with a porous filter sponge and also put a piece of sponge in the outflow. I used old hairbands to keep it on. haha.
It helped a lot. My betta isn't pushed around nearly as much.

You're welcome! Make sure you use sponge that is made for filters/aquariums. Regular kitchen sponges have chemicals in them to keep them from getting moldy and they actually say, "Not for aquarium use" on the package. Make sure it's a fairly porous sponge, too.

You could probably find some at your petco. I used the Aquaclear filter sponges for mine. I think they have white and black ones. I used the white. I just cut them up and stick them in. I also created a baffle for the output using the sticky in the Betta Bowl section I believe. Works wonders! You could try to make a pre filter if the pull is too much from the intake.

I couldn't find good sponge at Petco, but I found one at a pet store called All Pets Club. Nice and porous. It came in a box, and you can cut it to any size you want.

I used pantyhose wrapped around the outflow of the water. Works perfect and I did not have to go out and buy anything :) always a bonus
