How long is the trip? If it's only a few days, it's fine to just leave them be. If it's more than a few days, you could have someone stop by and feed them for you. You can buy one of those day-by-day pill boxes and put the right amount of food for the day in each day, to make sure the person you have feeding your fish doesn't overfeed them. They also make automatic fish feeders, but I'm not sure how practical one would be for bettas. They also make vacation feeding blocks, which I wouldn't recommend because they can mess up your water quality. They also make gel vacation feeders. I've had some success with those.

iamntbatman, would one of those gel feeders work for one betta in a gallon container?

The gel feeders are just a gel made out of seaweed with daphnia stuck in it, so it won't mess up the water quality at all, even in a small container. The only problem is that some fish don't really seem to like them. I think most of the damage done to my feeder was from my snails. You could always try one out and see if the betta likes it before trusting it while you're on vacation.
