Does fin rot leave infectious bacteria in your filter?

I "adopted" a sick fish it appears he has the very beginnings of fin rot. I tried out my filter but it has too much current so I took it out and I will deal with it after a I get a few more supplies. I am wondering if anything in the filter can reinfect my fish with fin rot.

I highly doubt it but if you want to feel safe and you dont have a beneficial bacteria colony to worry about, you can rinse the media with some hot water.
