Don't Look at Me!

I have a girl in my sorority who I swear is viewing shy! When I come into the room, she's swimming happily around at full colors (she's really pretty teal and purple), but if I sit down on my stool and watch the fish for a few minutes, she stripes up! That fast! She's right up there at the front of the tank with the other girls watching me back, but apparently the simple act of someone watching *her* wigs her out a bit!

What quirks have you noticed in the way your guys or gals act?

My black copper PK, Odin is extremely camera shy. I'll have the camera out, and he'll be flaring up a storm without a care in the world . . . until he sees the scary orange camera! OH NOES! He'll just stop flaring, look at me with such fear in his little eyes, and he'll go all clampy. Then he will just swim to the back of his tank to sulk until I put the camera away. The moment he sees that I have no scary camera, he's back to his usual perky self.

That seems to be fairly common among bettas. Mine either hide or they get so excited that they just won't stay in one spot long enough for the camera to focus!

Sometimes I can see Perseus out of the corner of my eye staring at me and when I look over at him will swim away fast like Oh no she caught me staring at her...lolol

Yep, my fish hate my phone when I use it to take a pic. At first Pumpkin Cheesecake didn't mind the phone, but I think my other two fish passed the trait of swimming away from it to Pumpkin. *eyes roll*

Cadence, my fish, likes photo shoots (just look at the face he's pulling in my avatar!). I guess this isn't a "normal" thing haha.

I have a female who was the same way for the first month or so that I had her. for the first couple of weeks I would just walk in the room or make a fast move and her color would totally fade out and she'd get dark stripes. She doesn't do that anymore.

Hopefully this will be something she outgrows. She was one of my original purchases - the smallest and palest of them. She developed a bad case of SBD after a few days in the big tank, so I took her out and she spent the next two months in a small tank keeping my ADF company and recovering/growing. She did fine behaviourwise when I reintroduced her, just the striping up when watched
