No, their stomachs are very tiny. You could feed them twice a day if it was very small amounts. I feed my betta once a day and fast him one day a week.

Not necessary, but like with humans, multiple small meals are better than one large one. I would normally feed 3 pellets twice a day, but for my heavily underweight boy I am feeding 3-4 pellets three times a day.

my potty training schedule: no #2 = no food
Assuming they are healthy, they are fine without food for a day or two.

I feed three pellets twice a day but one larger meal (5 pellets) should be sufficient. They are tiny widdle things.

i have fed my guys 5 pellets per day. But, i noticed the other day that they are skinny, so i've doubled it to 10 pellets a day and they are much happier. Plus, my guys are pretty big. Sometimes when i'm lazy, i just throw 10 pellets in there for the whole day. But, usually i do 5 pellets in the morning, and 5 pellets in the afternoon. I think it is fine either way, doesn't really matter for my guys.

I have heard that fasting is the way to go, but I find I cannot face ":those eyes" without plopping a pellet into the tank some time during the day. I feed my current fish (a small white HM) two pellets in the morning and then one or two pellets in the afternoon. He swims to the side of the tank to greet me as soon as he is aware that I am in the room with him, and he peeks upwards toward the surface of the water intermittently, hoping for something to fall. It is so hard not to indulge them at every turn, though they are healthier for our restraint.

hee hee it's true! Their little faces are too hard to resist.

I feed my little boys 3-4 pellets twice a day. They seem to like 2 meals daily much better than just the one larger meal.Plus they get a BW each as an extra twice a week.
