My name is Jamie and I'm a grad student in conservation biology/applied ecology. I've kept aquariums off and on since I was 12, and I'll be 34 in August. My first breeding experience was with bettas WAAAAY back in the day (literally 20 years ago), and I just decided this week to get back into high end bettas on a whim this week. My fiancee saw an amazing copper black orchid dragon halfmoon crowntail butterfly (*WHEW) and told me to buy him on the spot. I also found a really really lovely steel blue/black orchid crowntail that I had to have. Both of my new guys are arriving next week, and I already have Nigel, who is my pet yellow dragon plaket that i bought on a whim a few months ago.
So we're going to start looking for some nice high end females to cross with our boys, and I'm going to brush up on my genetics, and hopefully i'll be successful!
Looking forward to hanging out and learning, and I'll provide pix when my boys get here and settled in.
