heater?!?

I want to get heaters for my bettas now that the winter months are approaching... I have three 1 gallon goldfish bowls... are there any heaters out there that I can use in these?



I'd like to avoid buying new tanks for them because of space and cost. Any tips are greatly appreciated :D

they have little tiny ones that are 10 watts they're called microheaters and you get them at most petstores. if not theres some online.

i have seen 7.5 and 10 watt heaters that would probably be fine.

Here's the advice you didn't want to hear:

In my experience, it's extremely difficult maintaining steady temperatures in bowls that small. I've used some really small heaters before and they tend to overheat the water when they kick on.

If you're concerned about cost: A ten gallon tank costs $11 at Petsmart, and you could get a decent heater for it for about $15. Place two dividers in the tank, use the decor you've already got in the bowls for each third of the tank, and presto. The larger volume will be much more forgiving, and it will cost less than the price of three of those micro heaters. A ten gallon tank only has a 20" by 10" footprint.

Well I went out and bought some heaters and the fellas really seem happy with them :D Thanks for all your advice! Tank temp went from 68 to 75 in a couple of hours. It doesn't look real pretty but I'm thinking the next time I clean the tanks I'll try to make it look better.
