Substrate for Neo.brichardi shell dwellers

Anyone here use any thing other than sand for substrate. I am wanting something other than sand. Any ideas?

I used a crushed shell substrate for my shell dwellers and they did fine with it. Your LFS should have it available.

Thanks for the reply. I ended up getting the eco complete for cichlids and Fla. crushed coral. I think this is going to work out pretty good

That sounds like what I used, they like a high ph and the crushed coral helps with that, let me know how things work out !
