Hello everyone,

My name is jodi and i am new to keeping bettas, or any type of fish for that matter lol. I started out with just one male crowntail betta about 3 weeks ago. Then i added a snail, which he became buddies with, He literally sleeps right beside it. I decided i wanted a community tank a few days ago so i bought a 5.5 gal tank, heater, light, filter, etc. I got me a Lyretail Dalmation Molly and a Cory catfish. Btw Lu Bu is my betta; Shadow is my molly, Dart is my Cory; and Bongo is the snail. My tank is planted with a variety of plants. And well if anyone has any advice to give i'd love to hear it!

welcome to the furum. you got a few problems. the mollys grow to big for that tank,the cories need to be in groups of at least three and they should have at least 20 galllons, and the betta and lyretail could battle. you should only have one fish and the snail in that.

I've been watching them closely, my betta is very social and no problems have arisen so far. but as soon as i see trouble im splitting. and the petstore said that the mollies they have are full grown and wont get any bigger. And thank you!

I only have one piece of advice. Don't trust petstore employees. The vast majority or either poorly trained or not trained at all. They mean well, but more than not usually give bad advice!
