I'm not intending to be rude, but this seems like such a novice question. She has nine bettas, so she should know what it looks like. That, and this user has been questionable multiple times before. I'm sorry if I offended anybody, I really am.

I've noticed that when they're pooping (which I've seen happen twice in the 8 yrs I've kept bettas) and when it's on the gravel, it looks totally different. Novices tend to ask novice questions, we've all been there at some point.

I know she's had some threads recently that have warranted a headdesk, but a knee jerk reaction to an honest question is likely to scare someone off of asking a question, and that's when it might be important.

We're all here to help and to receive help when we need it.

One of them was probably making a bubble nest, yes :)
But they don't get moved around the tank

Just curious, where do you have all the 9 bettas?

I'm only askig because I see you have 1 in the 1.5 gallon

Funny thing, I never knew females even bothered with nest building until this fall when one of my girls did. I was confused! lol
