Water temps often do feel quite a bit cooler than air temps.

I've gone scuba diving in ~73 degree water with a wetsuit on, and it was SOOOOO cold!

I am ordering a Hydor Theo 50 watt ( Yes I know I only need a 25 watt but I figured this way I will ensure it can keep my tank high enough) it will be a few days yet but Finn is doing great :)

The Elites are awesome- love them have 3. But the brand was bought by Hydor so they are disappearing :(

Aqueon 50 Watt went on sale so I got him one and its amazing it keeps Joseph temp exactly 80* which is where he likes it. He has perked up so much with it :)

I definitely second that... Not only is it nice to be able to set your own temperature, but also, if you buy a fixed temperature heater, most of them are not well calibrated.

So if you get one thats fixed at 78 degrees... what if you find out when you get home that it really only heats your water to 75 degrees? You're stuck with 75 degree water.

Adjustable all the way. EHEIM Jagers are good heaters.
