Is this fin rot?

After browsing through this forum I'm worried about Gargamel. I've had him for about three weeks and he's always been this way. He's completely normal (eating, he's social, big bubble nest) but I'm paranoid. So... can anyone tell me if this is finrot?

Gee, that's a hard one. It's hard to tell whether he has fin rot or he previously had it and his tail is growing back. I would watch to make sure it doesn't get worse. If it appears shorter, discolored, or just more ragged, I would treat him for fin rot. If it appears to be getting longer with more clear fin regrowth, then he is fine.

ok I'll be sure to keep an eye on it. I have another fish (Murdoc... I got them at the same time and the water was pretty murky at the petstore) and his fins are clumpy looking... Is this something wrong as well?



Since I've had them Murdoc is much brighter colored and Gargamel has sooo much more color in him so I know they're feeling better... I just want them to be completely healthy.
