Hey Everyone!
Hello!

I got my betta a few weeks back. He's a halfmoon and I named him Rocky (after Rocky Balboa).

He's technically my third betta, but I had the first two when I was really young. I was shocked when I went to get Rocky, and I saw all the variations in color and tails I could choose from. When I was a kid, you could get a red or a blue veil tail.

He's currently in a 1 gal, but I'm getting him a 5 gal tomorrow. I've been reading up on betta care (mostly on this forum), and decided that he would be happier with a bigger tank. (And of course, since he's getting a new tank tomorrow he decided to build a bubble nest today).

He won't let me take a picture of him right now since he's working on his bubble nest, but I can upload one when he decides to take a break from his hard work

Hi! Welcome to the forum! Glad to have you and Rocky here! Gosh, I know I had bettas when I was a kid and I know I had no clue how to properly care for them, I just can't remember how many I had as a kid. It's been driving me crazy not remembering! But, yeah, you only had a choice of red or blue. I am amazed myself seeing all the beautiful bettas available today.
Rocky is going to love his bigger home! I have 5 five gallon tanks, 1 three gallon, and a ten gallon. My boys love all the space! Haha, I do water changes every Thursday and what do I wake up to today? Puddles, determined to build the worlds largest bubble nest. He was so intense and focused on it that I had to make a video of him working on it. He is going to hate me so much tomorrow. Can't wait to see pictures of Rocky!

Got some pictures of him! He decided to pose for these ones. I fell in love with him because he's really beautiful. You can't really tell how iridescent he is in pictures though :/
