One of my co-workers in childcare also works in a petshop (I can see us butting heads about fish care in the near future
). Last night I was bubbling about my shiny new sorority and she said two things:
- I needed betta hormone stuff to put in the water to stop them from fighting
- I mustn't feed them for the first 24 hours.
I'm fairly sure both of these are false. This is my second sorority and I've never heard of this hormone stuff. And I always feed my fish the night I put them in the tank, if they want to eat. She was also shocked and appalled that I left them floating in their bags for 3 hours whilst I was at work, instead of releasing them and not being there to monitor their first few hours together for the first time.
Can anyone shed any light?
