For now, my cories are doing fantastic. On another forum I am on, people keep pygmy cories in as small as a 2.5 gallon tank and they do great. My largest is .75 of an inch and it won't grow any bigger. I think they are perfect fine in a 5 gallon tank since they don't stick to the bottom. Just have lots of plants because they need to explore, its burns out the energy haha.

2.5 gallon is way too small. I think they could potentially be ok in a 5 gallon *if* it has a large enough footprint, e.g. I have one that is 17 inches long. However, I don't think a standard one gives them enough room. It's like putting danios in a ten gallon: sure they can live in it, but it just isn't ideal and doesn't give them the amount of room they like.
