Wow, this thread blew up when I was gone xD

Keep in mind this is not 100% happening. I want the bookshelf for the males, but if I can convince my mom/find my way around things, I MIGHT bring my 10 gal back.
As for the whole male thing, I won't have a male in the sorority.

And I've never had any real issues with cycling. the worst it got was when the ammonia was .25 . I will most likely be carrying the filter and decor I have now over to both tanks to help jump start the cycle. The last time I did that, the cycle was started and completed almost immediately.

Also, as a college student, I have plenty of time. I'm in my dorm nearly the entire day since only have about 3 hours of classes per day, therefore I will be able to keep an eye on the fish if I do a sorority.

The problem I have isn't so much the illness or such since I HAVE the resources to care for it, as well as enough temp tanks. The main perdicament is whether it'd be way too small. Especially if I plant it. But honestly, it's not something I feel I can't handle.

The question isn't really whether you can handle it - it's whether the girls can handle the lack of space. If you're in a dorm, I definitely wouldn't recommended it, because if it doesn't work out, what are you going to be able to do with the fish?
