Well, I'm excited that I have a friend who is going to take the mollies and the danios! So that's great! I just have to find a home for the loaches, and I can keep my bettas in their 2.5 gallon tanks! Yippee! :)

You can call Petco/Petsmart and just see if they can take your loaches for you, tell them you don't have room and that you got them off someone who didn't know better either. If they say no, that's fine. I know some people list theirs up on Craigslist, although a lot of people are apprehensive in doing so.

Glad you found a home for them! And they do yes, by the betta's in Petco/Petsmart they have heaters there specifically for smaller tanks but I've heard they suck, I have a 5 gallon heater in mine that i've used for a year or so, and a thermometer which lets me know that it doesn't fluctuate or overheat.

That's great! Mollies and danios are both fish that need 20 gallons, so long-term, they'll be much happier with someone who can give them that. None of us doubt your commitment to their care, of course. :)

Good for you for taking those fish and trying to help them. :) Pictures of the bettas? :D

A cheap alternative for larger tanks are those see through storage bins. Not the most attractive thing to have on display but they come in various shapes and sizes. You can get like a 20ish gallon one for $6 and they have LIDS! You need to poke holes in them but it works.
