Torn fin treatment

Oh dear!

Julio has torn his fin again!
Not sure how or why this little fishy tears his fins!

I just want to clarify his treatment before I begin:
Add stress coat and bump his water temp up from his normal 26 to 28?
He's in a 15 litre heated tank, no filter and I do two water changes a week, 100% on a tues and 50% on a Friday.

He's his normal cheery self mind you so it doesn't seem to bother him.

Thanks!

Xoxo

you honestly don't have to do anything. :V just keep his water clean, and it'll heal itself. i don't add anything when my boys rip their fins.

Personally, I like the Stress Coat. It's working very well for my Fitch.

Warm, clean water will do the trick. StressCoat can be added if you'd like. (:

Yes, warm and clean water. Stress coat, if you want. Your temp and water change schedule look fine. Now, you just need to figure out what he's catching his fins on.... Could there be a sharp edge on one of his plants?

:I i never used stress coat. i don't even know if i have any..... wait. i do. Stress Coat+. but never used it. only fish o' mine that didn't heal right was Scout. funky Y-shaped tail now.

but, really. everyone treats things differently. i've had success with just clean water. never felt the need to add anything else unless i saw fuzzies on the tips of the fins. then i added Aquarium Salt.

Thanks for the replies everyone!

Everything in his tank has passed the stocking test so I'm stumped as to why this happened. All I can think of is perhaps he blew his fin, he goes get very very excited all the time!
