Question My betta perches?

I noticed that my betta sometimes perches on the aquarium plants. Is this normal? He's not itching himself or anything, he just kinda sits on top of them and doesn't move.

Mine does this all the time. I believe this is typical betta behavior. It does not sound like anything I'd worry about, but I'm also no betta expert. Just an expert on mine. lol

They like to rest on the leaves of their plants. Nothing to worry about.

I totally thought someone had cross-bred bettas with perches. I guess that's probably not even close to possible.

Bettas will rest on things like plant leaves from time to time, but if the fish is doing it a whole lot it could be a sign of other problems, like water quality issues or disease.

My bettas are forever climbing onto the floating indian almond leaves in their bowls to go to sleep, amazing to see, I have tried several times to take photos, but soon as I get near enough to take a decent snap, they swim off, soon as I capture a decent picture I will post it.

Regards
Jeff

It's like they know your trying to get a photo. They're very camera shy. Why did I give my betta so many plants to hide behind? lol
Perfectly normal...

I put a silk plant in my gallon and a half tank and my fish loves it! He swims through it , around it and under it.

I have one pland suction cupped to the side of my aquarium so that it dangles from out of the water down into it. My betta loves to climb up on the edge of it at night, just below the water surface. I guess that makes for easy breathing breaks while he tries to sleep at night. Instead of swimming to the surface he just has to arch his back a bit to get a breath.

My betta sleeps either on his plant that is close to the surface, or in between the heater and the wall, resting on the suction cup! It's so cute :)
