I bought one & it only kept my 5 gallon tank around 73 degrees. I gave it to a friend to use in a 2 gallon bowl & it heats up around 78.

Nice. ^.^ The temperature has stayed steady in mine for the past few days. It seems to heat up to 78, then kick off and then kick back on when it goes below that.
