I was told some time back that it was probably best not to wash it off, as you would also be washing off the BB which would *also* be on it. I use the Jungle stress coat stuff too, and it doesn't build up to the point that it's a problem, it's just there. And I always figured it might help the fish if they rub up against anything by depositing some aloe on them. :) It can't hurt. :)
